When my Vision became fuzzy at the age of
10, I would not tell my parents but it became obvious when my copying
from the blackboard looked like a foreign language.
I hated glasses and when I became a teenager, I begged my mother
to take me to Atlanta to get some contacts. Even though they were
very uncomfortable, I endured the pain of wearing contact lenses.
Over the years, I have tried every type of contact lens, hard,
soft and everything in between. Finally, I read about the RK procedure.
I knew that this was too scary to consider but it gave me hope
that someday there would be a solution. Finally, LASIK! I did
my homework and when I was ready to go for it, you were the right
choice. I opted for monovision since I am over 40. Now I am the
one reading the news and telephone book numbers to my husband
without the help of glasses. It was the best investment that I
have ever made. |

I feel very fortunate that fate chose
Dr. Thompson and his people as the team that would do my Lasik procedure.
I am writing this reference the day after I had the Lasik
Procedure done by Dr. Thompson and his great staff. I will review
several aspects of my experience - the pain, the care and the results
(hmmm, not nearly as good a title as the good, the bad and the ugly).
The reason for writing this is to thank Dr. Thompson and his staff
and to help prospective clients who might read this make a good
decision.
Once I made my decision to have Lasik done, I determined through
research that this was the best place to have it done. I feel
very fortunate that fate chose Dr. Thompson and his people as
the team that would do my Lasik procedure.
The Pain: None, nada, zip!!! No pain or discomfort of any type
prior, during or after. The procedure was amazing to me in its
lack of physical pain - there just was not any - period! There
is a bit of mental pain that you put yourself through thinking
about the procedure, but in retrospect it was completely unwarranted.
The Care: The care that I received was exceptional, professional
and very friendly. During the prepping part, when I was being
made ready for the procedure, there were several people prepping
me. They all were very friendly and informative. They immediately
put me to ease (or at ease as one can be prior to going through
this unique experience). They explained every step of what they
were doing and they told me what was going to happen. Their caring,
friendly and informative manner was much appreciated. I won't
go into the details of the procedure, as they are well documented
on the Internet and in informational information. The only thing
I want to mention that was very interesting (actually amazing!)
is that I estimate the prepping took 15-25 minutes and I would
be surprised if the actual procedure in both eyes took more than
5 minutes - amazing!!
The Results: As I mentioned, I have not experienced any pain,
no halos, starbursts, nothing negative - nothing!
My vision started to get very noticeable better 1 hour after
and it kept improving. When I awoke it was excellent! I went in
for my next day exam and I could read the 20/20 of the eye chart
with no problem! I could read the 20/15 line with a bit of effort
and this is the most unbelievable to me - I could actually make
out a letter or two on the 20/12 line, which Dr. Thompson said
is better than he can see (yes, he has had the procedure). The
reason that I think my vision is better is because I think that
I had the better Doctor perform mine.
Huge thank you to Dr. Thompson and his great staff!!
Respectfully, D.Y. |

Just wanted to let you know how grateful
I am to you for doing such a great surgery on my eyes...
Dear Dr. Thompson,
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
Just wanted to let you know how grateful I am to you for doing
such a great surgery on my eyes. You know, not only did I not
even need a Tylenol through all of this but I don't experience
any glare, ghost images or anything except a perfect 20/20 vision
in both my eyes all day and all night. Last Monday, Dr. Tillery
checked things and was very pleased. I thought I might need a
little bit more correction but he doesn't seem to think so. I
cannot believe that I have practically no trouble reading films
and doing all the computer processing for my Nuclear Medicine
work. I was so very lucky to have found you folks and this truly
has been a miracle for me.
As I write to all my friends and family over the holiday season,
I am telling them about my miracle. I will be in Bombay on 27th
January and in Agra to see the Taj Mahal with my New Eyes on the
30th January. I can assure you that I will be thinking of all
the great work you do as I see the Taj Mahal for the very first
time!
Thank you Dr. Thompson and my God always be with you as you
give new vision to many more people like myself. What a wonderful
gift you have an how happy you must be to know that you do bring
this miracle in people's lives. If I can ever be any help to any
of your patients in easing their anxiety please have your staff
contact me. I feel like telling the whole world that they should
come to you and experience this miracle.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all of you. |

Thank you for being the kind of person
who makes a difference in the world...
Dear Dr. Waring,
Thank you for being the kind of person who makes a difference
in the world - for caring, for putting the needs of others before
your own, for reaching out to lighten burdens and soothe souls.
You make many people grateful and proud to know you.
You are someone with whom I feel total confidence and comfort
and I know you go the extra mile in your care for your patients.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely, B.T. |

Thank you for such a fine job in correcting
our near sighted vision...
Dear Dr. Thompson:
Christelle and I want to thank you for such a fine job in correcting
our near sighted vision. It has been wonderful to awaken and see
the clock. Furthermore, I am seeing the break and undulations
on the green and my putting has improved. Although this may be
a coincidence that I have been playing well since surgery, I am
extremely grateful for the results of my eye surgery.
Thank you again for your professional expertise.
Sincerely, H.J.W. III |

Thank you all so much
Dear Dr. Waring, Tony, Alyce, Scott, and Nicole,
Thank you all so much. I had my LASIK procedure on Thursday,
January 20, 2000, and am so pleased with the results. I had been
wearing glasses or contacts since I was eight-years-old so you
may be able to imagine how exciting it is to see clearly unaided
after almost 40 years.
Everyone involved in this process has been helpful and kind
and answered all of my questions. Thank you all so much.
Sincerely, G.H. |

I cannot but be tremendously grateful
for your skills and compassion...
Dear Keith:
It is difficult to express in e-mail my thanks to you and your
exceptional staff for the totally professional and personal care
afforded to me last week. The results of the enhancement surgery
after these few days are delightful and even though I have had
the experience in the past knowing that changes will occur during
the first four weeks, I am comfortable in knowing all will be
well. I cannot be but tremendously grateful for your skills and
compassion both five months ago and especially after the enhancement.
I am sorry to have been responsible for needing the enhancement
as to your records but I felt as if you responded to my further
needs in the most admirable and courteous way.
Having had the opportunity twice to be cared for by your staff
has impressed me deeply. They are wonderful and dedicated to both
you and the patient. Although I cannot remember all the names
please, for me, thank Lisa, Susan, Eric, Robert (hope he gets
accepted into medical school) and Angela and of course all the
rest I didn't mention by name.
I don't need the artificial tear drops because everything I
can now see that has not been possible the past many years brings
tears to my eyes each time.
Thanks again for all you have done for me. I will always remember
your kindness and the great fortune to have Dr. Miller as your
colleague and to have been referred to you.
Very sincerely, B.B. |

As a surgeon who has operated all over
the world, I can tell when a team really knows their business...
Dear Dr. Waring, Tonia Page, and the surgical staff,
I had my surgery on November 9, and am recovering nicely. I
wanted to thank you for your kindness and professionalism. As
a surgeon who has operated all over the world I can tell when
a team really knows their business. You keep me comfortable and
confident from start to finish and I deeply appreciate that.
Best wishes during this holiday season.

I wanted to formally say how much I appreciate
you and your staff's skill and care...
Dear Dr. Waring,
I wanted to formally say how much I appreciate you and your
staff's skill and care. From the moment I entered your office
I was efficiently and compassionately helped.
The preoperative staff soothed my rising tension. They had a
very one on one attitude. Even though Dianne and David Watkins
had seen hundred before like me, they kept their care professional
yet personal.
I know your skill is outstanding because my postoperative day
was extremely easy. There was no pain or discomfort. You also
talked me through the surgery "keeping me in my skin", when from
nerves, I wanted to leap off the surgical bed and run.
After you left the room I started crying (from released tension
I guess). There was a very nice lady who had assisted you in surgery
who not only said soothing things, she actually held me and gave
me the human comfort that only touch can bring. That kind of empathy
can't be bought. It can only be given. Your other assistant, Cindy,
saw that I was extremely cold and gave the jacket off her back
to keep me warm.
This experience shows me two things: one, you have the good
fortune of employing wonderful people and two, that you believe
in complete patient care. Business analysts tell us that the company
reflects the attitude of those at the top. Your attitude and your
skills are of the highest.
Thank you.
Sincerely, A.S. |

I'm sure you frequently get letters like
this...
Dear Keith:
I'm sure you frequently get letters like this, but there is
no way I could ever adequately thank you, Dr. Johnson, your staff
- and Ken Benson - for what you've done for my vision.
The enhancement on both eyes got me to 20/20. Considering what
it was the first time I walked into your clinic, that's nothing
short of miraculous. I would recommend you and the Lasik procedure
to anyone.
I appreciate the fact that a very complicated process runs on
schedule. Not only that, every member of your staff is professional,
courteous and helpful. I thank you all.
Sincerely yours, D.D. |
