InView:
April 27, 2006 |
Scott Slade shares his LASIK story at InView’s Thursday, April 27 2006 seminar.
"It took me about a year to decide, but [once I had the surgery], suddenly the whole world opened to me." |
|
 |
| from Terry M. |
I have just experienced
– not witnessed, mind you, but experienced – a miracle.
"Gather
round, brothers and sisters, hold on to your hats and pull up your
chairs, for I have got something important to say." |
|
 |
| from V. Bell |
LASIK changes lives
"There are many wonderful things I could say about how LASIK has
changed my life, but if I could put it in one line it would be this:
I walked into surgery not being able to read the LARGEST E on the
eye chart and walked out reading the instructions on the eye drops
bottle." |
|
 |
| from J.
Cantrell |
My LASIK eye surgery was the best money
I've ever spent!
"I'm an avid golfer, and it is so nice to be able to wear nothing
but sunglasses." |
|
 |
| from A. Hogan |
The day after
I had my LASIK procedure was the first day of my new life.
For the first time in my life I could see clearly. LASIK is the
best thing I have done for myself. I cannot say it enough. I have
not worn glasses since-not even for driving at night. I only have
one regret: not doing it earlier. |
|
 |
| from G.
Latham |
When I had the LASIK surgery it was still
in the experimental stage, about 6 years ago.
I had begun wearing glasses when I was in grade school, and my
eyesight became worse, until the only way to see, was through
rings and rings of glass. |
|
 |
| from M.
Auda |
It has been about 3 months ...
And I still catch myself trying to adjust the glasses that are
no longer on my face! My "new" eyes have truly brought
a new comfort level to many of the activities I enjoy: skiing,
rollerblading, softball, yoga, and aerobics. |
|
 |
| from S. Slade |
At the age of nine,
Scott Slade stood
in front of the eye chart in the nurse's office at his elementary
school in Griffin, Georgia. |
|
 |
| from G. O'Neal |
The thing I enjoyed most after my surgery
is SEEING.
From a shy sixth grader afraid to be called upon to read from
the blackboard because I couldn't see what was there, to a basketball
player in High School called four eyes ... |
|
 |
| from T.
Thurman |
Thanks for my visionary dream of great vision!
No more fumbling for my glasses on the night
stand, no more dry contacts when driving late at night, no more
frame adjustments, no more glasses sliding down the nose and no
more aching ears!! |
|
 |
| from D.
Dingess |
I first started thinking about LASIK surgery
about 3 years ago.
A relative had it done and just loved it. Having worn glasses
and contacts since the 3rd grade, the thought of not wearing glasses
was dream I thought I would never experience. |
|
 |
| from S. Pfeninger |
I can see in the morning upon waking!
I enjoy seeing in the rain!
I enjoy seeing while alpine skiing!
I enjoy seeing when on a roller-coaster!
I enjoy seeing while in my swimsuit at the beach, lake and water
park!
I just enjoy seeing without my glasses! |
|
 |
| from C.
Rothert |
It has been a little over a year since I had
the surgery...
...and I sometimes forget that I had the procedure done
because I feel my new eyesight is so natural, as if it has always
been this way. |
|
 |
| from M.
Cobb |
What I have enjoyed
the most with LASIK,
is being able to go under water with open eyes
... |
|
 |
| from J. A. White |
When my Vision became fuzzy at the age of
10,
I would not tell my parents but it became obvious when my copying
from the blackboard looked like a foreign language. |
|
 |
| from D.Y. |
I feel very fortunate that fate chose
Dr. Thompson ...
... and his people as the team that would do my Lasik procedure. |
|
 |
| from P.C. |
Thank you for the gift of sight!
Dear Dr. Waring,
Thank you for the gift of sight! My whole experience with you
and your co-workers has been wonderful. I look forward to getting
back to my involvement with art and bird watching (for the first
time).
Many thanks, P.C. |

| from V.D. |

who makes a difference in the world... |
|
 |
| from H.J.W. III |
Thank you for such a fine job in correcting
our near sighted vision...
"It has been wonderful to awaken and see
the clock." |
|
 |
| from G.H. |
Thank you all so much
"You
may be able to imagine how exciting it is to see clearly unaided
after almost 40 years.
" |
|
 |
| from B.B. |
Dear Keith:
I cannot but be tremendously grateful
for your skills and compassion... |
|
 |
| from Dr. G.T.A |
As a surgeon who has operated all over
the world,
I can tell when a team really knows their business... |
|
 |
| from L.M. |
I am probably the most enthusiastic
patient you have!
Keith Thompson changed my life. I am so lucky. He is wonderful! I am so happy with my new vision. My life is different and I thank you everyday. |
|
 |
| from A.S. |
I wanted to formally say how much I appreciate
you ...
... and your staff's skill and care. |
|
 |
| from D.D. |
I'm sure you frequently get letters like
this...
"The enhancement on both eyes got me to 20/20." |
|
