  • Reduced Halos
  • Better Vision in Dim Light

InterWave ® technology: A system of diagnostic vision measurement and individualized treatment in LASIK surgery. Based on InView's detailed measurements, patients treated with InterWave ® report sharper vision, particularly in dimly lit situations.

Why InterWave ® technology? InView has always been committed to bringing patients the best in laser vision surgery and InterWave ® is a major innovation that provides physicians with more precise, comprehensive data on the patient's visual performance. While most of our patients are satisfied with their vision after surgery, we are striving to exceed the quality of vision that can be achieved by relying on Snellen acuity (20/20) and refractive measurements vision standards that date back to the time of the Civil War.

Measurement:

rule

InterWave ® Scanner is an interactive, diagnostic, wavefront device that provides detailed measurements of the patient's entire visual system including the cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve and visual cortex of the brain.
Multiple Measurements. Multiple (up to 70) points for each eye are measured using patient response to provide data about optical performance and quality of vision. In contrast, conventional measurements of acuity and refraction are made through a single region of the cornea that provides only an average measurement.
Digital Pupillometry provides the surgeon with accurate measurements of the size, location and response of the pupil in dim and bright light.
InterWave ® Maps. InterWave ® Scanner produces various detailed maps and diagrams that describe the optical performance of the eye.

Treatment:

rule

InterWave ® Treatment Plan. Information obtained from the InterWave ® Scanner is used to develop a treatment plan that includes:

  • Type of laser
  • Number of treatment zones
  • Size of treatment zones
  • Method of locating the treatment zones on the cornea
  • Computer settings which control the laser
  • The surgeon reviews the recommended plans and decides, with the patient, the best treatment for optimal vision.

InterWave ® LASIK is the individualized treatment a patient may receive based on the detailed assessment of his or her visual performance provided by the InterWave ® System. It may or may not include multiple treatment zones based on the amount of correction needed in each area. Each zone is then treated individually with the optimal amount of correction.
